What we are looking for

Your submission

For the time being, we only need a short abstract of 500 to a maximum of 1500 characters. Choose an appealing topic and compose your text thoughtfully. The first impression counts!

Presentation format

Normal presentations are 40 minutes long, but you also have the option of giving your presentation as a Deep Dive Session. Whether experience and project reports, tips and tricks, new features or best practices – the more practical relevance, the better.

Deep Dive Sessions

Dive deeper into the subject matter with the Deep Dive Sessions. In a double session (105 minutes in total) you have the opportunity to cover a topic comprehensively and in detail. 

  • Increased depth and level of detail: The extra time allows you to go beyond the basics and explain complex concepts, techniques and best practices in detail

  • Interactive elements: The extra time in a Deep Dive can be used for extended interactive elements, such as live coding, hands-on exercises and more detailed Q&As

  • Deepening complex topics: Deep Dive sessions are ideal for advanced topics and are therefore aimed at an audience with in-depth prior knowledge.

This way, an attractive lecture program will also be created for participants who want expert-level lectures.

Your presentation can cover the following topics, each of which has its own stream:

We are especially interested in submissions on cross-cutting topics such as artificial intelligence, security, or other topics that touch on multiple subject areas. In this case, simply select the focus area that best fits your submission.

Topic Descriptions

Java

The Java platform is constantly evolving. The new Java Stream combines the previous Core Java and Server-side Java streams and brings together all topics related to the Java platform and the JVM ecosystem. This includes language features, libraries, frameworks, runtime environments, performance, and the JVM itself. Topics focusing on software architecture, quality assurance, build and deployment, or engineering practices, however, should be submitted to the streams designated for those purposes.

Architecture

Software architecture encompasses the fundamental structures of a software system as well as the key architectural and technological decisions made throughout the course of a project. This field is shaped by modern requirements for quality, deployment, security, resilience, and the integration of AI, as well as diverse architectural styles such as modular monoliths and microservices. This track focuses on real-world experiences, challenges, and solutions. We are seeking presentations on architectural approaches, patterns, best practices, and methods for designing and documenting software architectures.

This track examines the entire lifecycle of a Java application—from build and testing through deployment and operations—with a focus on best practices, new tools, and real-world experiences. Particular attention is given to solutions, challenges, and trade-offs in real-world projects. The track also highlights tools for development, automation, security, AI-powered development, and developer experience that make Java applications more efficient, secure, and reliable.

Quality & Testing

As software systems become increasingly complex, ensuring quality is becoming more and more important in order to detect errors early and keep applications maintainable, understandable, and secure in the long term. The Quality & Testing track addresses topics such as test strategies, test automation, code quality, static analysis, testability, and dealing with unstable tests and hard-to-test code. In addition, experience with the use of AI in quality assurance and in testing AI applications is in demand. The focus is on proven methods, tools, and practical insights from real-world projects.

The Engineering Practices stream focuses on technical methods, approaches, and insights from day-to-day software development. We are looking for presentations that shed light on technical workflows, share practical experiences, or offer new perspectives on established practices. Topics related to communication, leadership, and team culture, on the other hand, belong in the Life & Culture stream.

Data & Analytics

Data forms the foundation of modern software solutions, analytics, AI applications, and digital products. The Data & Analytics track focuses on the collection, processing, storage, analysis, visualization, and secure use of data, as well as the underlying architectures and platforms. The focus is on practical experience with data platforms, data quality, governance, data protection, real-time and batch processing, and the use of AI in data processing. We are seeking submissions that present proven concepts, tools, challenges, and solutions from real-world projects.

The Life & Culture stream focuses on the human, organizational, and cultural aspects of software development, such as collaboration, feedback, leadership, learning, and personal development. We are looking for practical presentations that open up new perspectives, provide food for thought, and demonstrate how teams can collaborate more successfully. Technical processes and development practices, on the other hand, belong in the Engineering Practices stream.

We are looking for presentations that demonstrate how people can interact better with software or how developers can create better user experiences.

The focus is on innovations from research and practice, including experiments, successes, failures, and the insights gained from them. We are seeking contributions on unconventional approaches and future-oriented topics that inspire and provide new impetus for projects and companies. This track provides a space for bold experiments, learning by doing, and discussions about paths beyond established solutions.
